A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GILROY REPEALING AND REPLACING RESOLUTION NO. 2018-14
PERTAINING TO THE APPROPRIATION LIMIT FOR FISCAL YEAR
2018-2019
WHEREAS, the voters of the State of California elected to add Article XIII. B. of the
California Constitution known as the Gann Initiative and Proposition 4; and
WHEREAS, the State of California, Department of Finance, and the League of California
Cities have established uniform guidelines and have published appropriate percentages for
California per capita personal income and population changes for the implementation of the
subject limit.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Gilroy adopted Resolution No. 2018-14,
establishing the appropriation limit for Fiscal Year 2018-2019 at $168,139,825; and
WHEREAS, under review the appropriation limits were unduly low, and the City's
independent auditor has recommended amending the limit to the correct higher amount.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that Resolution No. 2018-14 is repealed, and
replaced with this resolution.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the appropriation limit for the City of Gilroy for
Fiscal Year 2018-2019 is amended to $179,932,769.

June, 2019 by the following roll call vote:
