The meeting was called to order at 6:00 PM by Mayor Roland Velasco

A. "Support Gilroy" Media Campaign Final Report
The report was introduced by Interim City Administrator Forbis and further
presented by Visit Gilroy CEO Jane Howard.
Possible Action:
Receive and accept report from the Gilroy Chamber of CommerceNisit
Gilroy on the recently completed "Support Gilroy" Strategic Marketing
Plan.
IV. REPORTS OF COUNCIL MEMBERS
Council Member Blankley spoke on the VTA meeting and the SCRWA meeting
and upcoming Cities Association meeting.
Mayor Velasco spoke on the County Official's discussions regarding poll watcher
guidelines and the state equity adjustment process with the COVID shelter in
place order.
V. FUTURE COUNCIL INITIATED AGENDA ITEMS
Council Member Blankley asked that a presentation from VTA be scheduled, and
an item for a permanent Garlic Festival memorial be placed on a future agenda.
The full Council agreed to agendize the items.

X. INTRODUCTION OF NEW BUSINESS
A. Designation of California Highway 152 in Gilroy from Monterey Road to
Santa Teresa Boulevard (1st Street) as "Veterans Memorial Highway"
The staff report was presented by Interim City Administrator Forbis.
There were no public comments.
Possible Action:
Adopt resolution 2020-590 f the City Council of the City of Gilroy approving
the designation of California Highway 152 in Gilroy from Monterey Road to
Santa Teresa Boulevard (1st Street) as "Veterans Memorial Highway".

Appoint Jimmy Forbis to the position of City Administrator effective
October 6, 2020.

C. Approval of an Employment Agreement With City Administrator Jimmy
Forbis as Recommended by City Council Sub -Committee Members Marie
Blankley, Dion Bracco and Peter Leroe-Munoz
The item was presented by Council Member Leroe-Munoz and salary and
benefits were described in detail.
There were no public comments.
City Attorney Faber suggested the inclusion of additional language.
Possible Action:
Approve an employment agreement with City Administrator Jimmy Forbis
with additional language provided by the City Attorney, setting forth the
compensation, benefits and terms associated with the appointment as
recommended by City Council sub -committee members Marie Blankley,
Dion Bracco and Peter Leroe-Munoz.
