I. CALL TO ORDER
The regular meeting of the Youth Commission was called to order by Vice Chair
Kamrah at 6:08 P.M.

IV. SECRETARY'S REPORT
Staff Bautista reported that the Youth Commission meeting packet and agenda was
posted online and at the City Hall kiosk on Friday, April 8, 2022 at 10:20 a.m.
V. APPROVAL OF MINUTES
A. March 14, 2022
Motion was made by Commissioner Suresh to approve the minutes of the March
14, 2022 regular meeting as written. The motion was seconded by Commissioner
Lavender. The motion carried with an 8-0-3 vote (Absent: Commissioner James,
Commissioner Baker, and Commissioner Padda).

Motion was made by Commissioner Miller to approve the agenda of Monday, April
8, 2019 regular meeting. The motion was seconded by Commissioner I. Hwang.
The motion carried with a 8-0-3 vote (Absent: Commissioner James, Commissioner
Baker, and Commissioner Padda).

VIII. INTRODUCTIONS
None.
IX. PUBLIC COMMENT ON ITEMS NOT ON THE AGENDA
None at this time.
X. NEW BUSINESS
A. Youth Commission City Council Presentation
Staff Bautista reported to the commission that they will be presenting to City
Council on Monday, May 16, 2022. City Council is scheduled to start at 6:00 p.m.
Staff Bautista stated that the commission will be presenting five slides that the
commission contributed in throughout the year. The commission will continue to
practice and prepare for the presentation at the next regular meeting.
XI. OLD BUSINESS
A. SCYTF RJ Youth Diversion Program
No reports were made for the SCYTF RJ program. No commissioners attended or
participated.
B. Yack Attack Cancellation
Staff Bautista reminded the commission that the event was for networking and
brainstorming ideas. A friendly reminder to be open and committed in the future.
C. Youth Hackathon Update
Staff Bautista updated the commission on the unavailable use of facilities in the
summer. In addition, the commission will be going on hiatus from June-August and
time is limited. Staff Bautista encouraged those commissioners who volunteered in
the hackathon to continue to do so when the event occurs in the late summer.
D. Preparation of Kids Discovery Art/Day of the Child Event

Staff Bautista reminded that the Day of the Child Event will take place on Sunday,
May 1, 2022 from 12-4 p.m. The commission will report to San Ysidro Park at
10:30 a.m. to help set up for the event. The commission will be hosting two tables
that offer several activities. Every commissioner will recruit volunteers for the
event. The emphasis will be on games, face painting, and arts and crafts. The
following are assigned roles and responsibilities:
Arts & Crafts: Commissioners Alexis, Lavender, Reet, and Meyhar
- Table covers (6)
- Center Pieces
- Need: Variety of crowns, wands, color sheets, crayons, stickers, flowers, stars, and
letters.
Face Painting: Commissioners Lavender, Meyhar, Alexis, and Miller
- Stick to five to six designs. Stencils and pictures.
- Purchase paint
Games: Commissioner Isaac, Aiden, Jacob, and Zeke.
- Corn hole
- Jenga
- Connect four (if available)
- Space for grass area
Publicity: Everyone
- Flyers, emails, word of mouth
- Staff Bautista will send over a flyer to the commission for outreach.
Miscellaneous Items:
- Color coordinated - Black sweater and army green shirts.
E. Planning of the Pampered Princess Party
The commission assigned each other homework to come up with new title name for
the previous Pampered Princess Party. For example: Commissioner Alexis Kong
came up with the names Mini Met Galla and Royal Red Carpet.
The commission will discuss further details and outline on what to include at the
event for next term.

XIV. STAFF COMMENTS
Staff Bautista praised Vice Chair Kamrah for all her efforts and hard work with
leading the commission in the meeting.
XV. FUTURE MEETINGS
The next regular meeting of the Gilroy Youth Commission will be held on Monday,
May 9, 2022 at 6:00 p.m. in the Gilroy Senior Center Meeting Room.
XVI. ADJOURNMENT
A motion was made by Commissioner I. Hwang to adjourn the meeting. The
motion was seconded by Commissioner Lopez. The motion carried with an 8-0-
3 vote (Absent: Commissioner James, Commissioner Baker, and
Commissioner Padda).
Vice Chair Kamrah adjourned the meeting at 7:11 P.M.
