I. CALL TO ORDER
The special meeting of the Youth Commission was called to order by acting vice
chair I. Hwang at 4:25 p.m.

IV. SECRETARY'S REPORT
The Youth Commission meeting packet and agenda was posted online and at the
City Hall kiosk on Monday, November 7, 2022 at 11:00 a.m.
V. APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Motion was made by Commissioner L. Hwang to approve the minutes of the
October 10, 2022 regular meeting as written. The motion was seconded by
Commissioner Lopez. The motion carried with a 8-0-2 vote (Absent: Commissioner
Francis and Commissioner Saldate).
VI. APPROVAL OF AGENDA
Motion was made by acting chair W. James to approve the agenda of the November
8, 2022 special meeting as written. The motion was seconded by Commissioner
Alexis. The motion carried with a 8-0-2 vote (Absent: Commissioner Francis and
Commissioner Saldate).

XI. OLD BUSINESS
A. Youth Commission Attire
The commission wanted to discuss apparel to be able to showcase their
participation at special events. Commissioner James came up with a logo design
that all commissioners agreed on. The commission requested to order dark grey
crewneck sweatshirt's and t-shirts. The created logo will appear on the front left
chest and on the back of the shirt/sweatshirt.
Motion was made by Commissioner James to approve the logo and apparel design.
The motion was seconded by acting chair W. James. The motion carried with a 8-0-
2 vote (Absent: Commissioner Francis and Commissioner Saldate).
B. RSVP for Volunteer Appreciation Dinner
Staff Bautista reminded the youth commission about the Thursday, November 10,
2022 volunteer appreciation dinner. Staff Bautista also confirmed attendance. 8/10
commissioners will be attending the volunteer dinner.

A motion was made by acting chair W. James to adjourn the meeting. The motion
was seconded by Commissioner A. James. The motion carried with a 8-0-2 vote
(Absent: Commissioner Francis and Commissioner Saldate). Vice chair I. Hwang
adjourned the meeting at 4:59 p.m.
XVI. FUTURE MEETINGS
The next regular meeting of the Gilroy Youth Commission will be held on Monday,
November 14, 2022 at 6:00 p.m. in the Gilroy Senior Center, Classroom 1.
