I. OPEN MEETING
Vice Chair Chavez called the meeting to order at 6:02pm.
II. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
Vice Chair Chavez led the pledge of allegiance.
III. REPORT ON POSTING THE AGENDA AND ROLL CALL
Planning Technician Romagnoli posted tonight’s meeting agenda on Friday,
1/14/22 at 3:56pm.

IV. PRESENTATIONS BY MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC: (Three-minute time limit).
None.
V. OLD BUSINESS:
1. Workplan Item: Historic Ordinance Update
Customer Services Manager McCormick presented the updated draft
amendment to the City’s historic ordinance (Article 27).
Discussion was held by the committee members.
Councilmember Representative Armendariz requested that the historic ordinance
be amended to change the term “Distinguished Historic Resource” to “Distinguished
Historic Structure” to distinguish non-building historic resources (e.g., vacant land)
from historic buildings.
Public comment was opened. None.
Public comment was closed.
Motion was made by Councilmember Representative Armendariz, seconded by
Planning Commissioner Representative Jezabel Moreno to recommend that staff
forward the HHC’s recommendation to the City’s consultant for inclusion in the
draft zoning ordinance update being presented to the Planning Commission and
the City Council in Summer/Fall 2022.

VI. NEW BUSINESS
1. HHC Consolidation
Customer Services Manager McCormick reported on the HHC consolidation
item.
Discussion was held by the committee members.
Councilmember Representative Armendariz requested that records be retained
of all prior HHC meeting agendas and minutes and remain accessible.
Public comment was opened. None.
Public comment was closed.
Motion was made by Vice Chair Chavez, seconded by Planning Commissioner
Representative Jezabel Moreno to accept the Council Resolution which transfers
the activities of the HHC to the Planning Commission and effectively ends the
terms of all sitting HHC members.

VII. APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
Motion was made by Vice Chair Chavez, seconded by Councilmember
Representative Armendariz to approve the December 15, 2021 meeting minutes.
