YOUTH COMMISION MEETING

CALL TO ORDER
The meeting was called to order at 7:14 p.m. by Vice-Chair Filice.
INTRODUCTIONS
None.
ROLL CALL & SECRETARY’S REPORT
Members Present: Baxter, Carpenter, Filice, Spath, and Straub
Members Absent: A. Sabharwal and P. Sabharwal
APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES
Commissioner Straub motioned to approve the minutes of September 8, 2014 and
Commissioner Baxter seconded the motion.
The motion carried (5-0-2, Commissioners A. Sabharwal and P. Sabharwal absent).
APPROVAL OF THE AGENDA
Commissioner Baxter motioned to approve the agenda for October 3, 2014 and
Commissioner Straub seconded the motion.
The motion carried (5-0-2, Commissioners A. Sabharwal and P. Sabharwal absent).
COMMITTEE REPORTS
None.
PUBLIC COMMENT
Stan Ketchum, City of Gilroy Senior Planner, did a presentation on the Proposed Tobacco
Retailers License (TRL).
OLD BUSINESS
A. Discussion Re: Presentation/Partnership with Gilroy Rotary
As Commissioner P. Sabharwal was absent, this item was tabled until the November
meeting.
B. Discussion Re: Run or Dye Event
The Commission is looking to hold this event in late June.
C. Discussion Re: Basketball Clinic
This event will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2015 at the El Portal gym.

Advisor Bielecki reminded all Commissioners to be present at the November meeting as the new

Vice-Chair Filice adjourned the meeting at 7:51 p.m.

The next regular meeting of the Youth Commission will be held on Monday, November 10, 2014
at 7:00 p.m. in the Gilroy Senior Center Meeting Room.
