June 17, 2015 at 4:30 P.M.
I. OPEN MEETING
Vice Chair Edith Edde called the meeting to order at 4:35 p.m.
II. REPORT ON POSTING THE AGENDA AND ROLL CALL
Planning Technician Kelsey Heyd reported that the agenda for the Regular Historic Heritage
Committee meeting of June 17, 2015 was posted on Thursday June 11, 2015 at 4:15 p.m.

VI. NEW BUSINESS:
Motion on Item VI
A. Appoint one Historic Heritage Committee member to serve on the High Speed Rail
Planning Advisory Committee
Committee Member Steve Ashford and Committee Member Toby Echelberry
volunteered to serve on the Advisory Committee
Committee Member Toby Echelberry asked if a person serving on the HHC could be
the HHC representative at the Advisory Committee even if they were not appointed
as a representative for the Advisory Committee on a different committee they serve
on
Planning Manager Sue Martin clarified that this representative is strictly for the HHC,
and would not be representing other committees even if a member is serving on

multiple committees or commissions
Committee Member Steve Ashford stated that because he serves on multiple
committees he felt Committee Member Toby Echelberry should serve as the HHC
rep for the Planning Advisory Committee
Carol DeSantis stated her concern, and also spoke for Connie Rogers who could not
be in attendance, that the HHC member appointed for the Advisory Committee
should be knowledgeable about construction and procedure and will keep the issue
about the value of Downtown for this community at the forefront of discussion. She
stated she would recommend Steve based on his knowledge of construction.
