LIBRARY COMMISSION MEETING

CALL TO ORDER
The regular meeting of the Library Commission was called to order by Vice =Chair Smith
Carol) at 7:02 p.m. in the Gilroy Library Meeting Room, 350 W. 6th Street in Gilroy,
California.
SECRETARY'S REPORT
The Agenda for this meeting was posted on October 2, 2014 at 3:15 p.m. Co mnssioners
Cooper, Smith (Carol), Smith (Hugh) and Taylor were present. Commissioner Spencer was
excused.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Motion made by Commissioner Taylor to approve the minutes of September 10, 2014.
Motion was seconded by Commissioner Cooper.
The motion carried with a 4 -0 -1 vote, Commissioner Spencer absent.
APPROVAL OF AGENDA
Motion made by Commissioner Taylor to approve the agenda of October 8, 2014. Motion
was seconded by Commissioner Cooper.'
The motion carried with a 4-0 -1 vote, Commissioner Spencer absent.

A. Discussion of Library Commission Work Plan
This item was tabled until more information can be gathered.
County Librarian, Nancy Howe
The County Librarian was unable to attend the meeting. However, a report was sent by email.
See attached report.
City Librarian, Lan! Yoshimura
Lani distributed a report and Calendar of Events to the Commissioners. See attached reports.
COMMISSION COMMENTS
None.
STAFF COMMENTS
The Secretary's Report was amended to state "Madam Vice - Chair, you have a quorum."
FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS
Discussion of Library Commission Work Plan will remain on the next agenda.
ADJOURNMENT
Vice -Chair Smith (Carol) adjourned the meeting at 7:46 p.m.

The next regular meeting of the Gilroy Library Commission will be held on Wednesday,
November 12, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. in the Gilroy Library Meeting Room, 350 W. 6th Street,
Gilroy, CA.
