MINUTES OF THE REGULAR
LIBRARY COMMISSION MEETING
7:00 P.M.
Wednesday, November 18, 2015
CALL TO ORDER
The meeting was called to order by Chair Hugh Smith at 7:05 p.m.
SECRETARY'S REPORT
The Agenda for this meeting was posted on November 12, 2015 at 2:30 p.m.
Commissioners Present: Rashmi Beman, Patricia Cooper, Carol Smith, Hugh Smith,
Joyce Taylor.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Motion made by Commissioner Taylor to approve the minutes of October 14, 2015.
Motion was seconded by Commissioner Smith (Carol).
Motion passed unanimously.
APPROVAL OF AGENDA
Motion made by Commissioner Smith (Carol) to approve the agenda of November 18,
2015. Motion was seconded by Commissioner Taylor.
Motion passed unanimously.

PUBLIC PARTICIPATION
None.
OLD BUSINESS
A. Discussion of Library Commission Work Plan
The Commission will contact the Bicycle Pedestrian Commission to attend their
meetings, and hopes to set up a joint -effort project. Chair Smith suggested the
Commission make this a priority at the beginning of 2016.
A. 2016 Library Commission Meeting Schedule
Commissioner Smith (Carol) moved that the schedule be approved as printed (July
and December meetings will be cancelled). The motion was seconded by
Commissioner Cooper.
Motion passed unanimously.
County Librarian, Nancy Howe
A monthly report was emailed in advance of the Library Commission meeting. See attached
report.
City Librarian, Lani Yoshimura
Lani handed out a report for November. She also included a report for the October meeting
when she was absent. Both reports are attached.
COMMISSION COMMENTS
Commissioner Taylor stated that she will miss being on the Library Commission. Her term
ends in December 2015.
STAFF COMMENTS
None.
FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS
Election of 2016 Library Commission officers will be on the January 2016 agenda. Discussion
of Library Commission Work Plan will remain on the next agenda.
ADJOURNMENT
Chair Hugh Smith adjourned the meeting at 7:39 p.m.
The next regular meeting of the Gilroy Library Commission will be held on Wednesday,
January 13, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. in the Gilroy Library Meeting Room, 350 W. 6th Street,
Gilroy, CA.
