CALL TO ORDER
The meeting was called to order by Chair Hugh Smith at 7:00 p.m.

The Agenda for this meeting was posted on September 3, 2015 at 1:30 p.m.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Motion made by Commissioner Cooper to approve the minutes of August 12, 2015.
Motion was seconded by Commissioner Smith (Carol).
Motion passed unanimously (4-0-1, Commissioner Beman was absent).
APPROVAL OF AGENDA
Motion made by Commissioner Smith (Carol) to approve the agenda of September 9,
2015. Motion was seconded by Commissioner Taylor.
Motion passed unanimously (4-0-1, Commissioner Beman was absent).

OLD BUSINESS
A. Discussion of Library Commission Work Plan
Lani announced that there will be a Bike Repair Day at the Gilroy Library from 2pm —
5pm on September 19, 2015. Kids will have priority to get bikes repaired, receive a free
helmet and decorate their bikes. The Library would like to collaborate with other City
Commissions in this effort. Plans for the Bike Fix -it Station are still in process. A
meeting with all Community Librarians will be scheduled.

Statistics were presented on free library cards that were issued to non -district residents, and on
Summer Reading Challenge. See attached report.
City Librarian, Lani Yoshimura
Lani distributed her report and a Calendar of Events to the Commissioners. See attached
reports.

Discussion of Library Commission Work Plan will remain on the next agenda.

Chair Hugh Smith adjourned the meeting at 7:27 p.m.

October 14, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. in the Gilroy Library Meeting Room, 350 W. 6th Street,
Gilroy, CA.
