SECRETARY'S REPORT – Agenda was posted on November 12, 2020. III. APPROVAL OF MINUTES A. September 9, 2020 and November 11, 2020 - Motion was passed by Vice Chair Gonzalez to approve the minutes. Commissioner Whitney seconded. Motion passed 3-0-2. IV. APPROVAL OF AGENDA - Motion was passed by Commissioner Whitney to approve the agenda. Vice Chair Gonzalez seconded. Motion passed 5-0-0. V. AWARDS/RECOGNITIONS - none VI. INTRODUCTIONS - none VII. PUBLIC COMMENT ON ITEMS NOT ON THE AGENDA - none VIII. NEW BUSINESS A. Approval of the 2021 Library Commission Meeting Schedule – Commission deliberated about the 2021 meeting schedule. Proposed to follow last year’s adopted schedule, where they would meet five times: February, April, June, September and November on the 2nd Wednesday of every month. Motion was passed by Chair Robinson to approve the agenda. Commissioner Whitney seconded. Motion passed 5 -0-0. IX. OLD BUSINESS - none X. LIBRARY REPORTS Page 2 of 2 A. Gilroy Library Report for November 2020 (report attached) – Community Librarian Cassandra Wong discussed the following topics: In-person service pilot program; increased number of visitors and circulation items; special events done virtually; Dia De Los Muertos; Friends of the Gilroy Library; and more. B. County Library Report for November 2020 (report attached): Santa Clara County Library’s Director of Communications and Marketing Diane Roche discussed the following in her report: increased usage of eBooks and audiobooks during the pandemic; involvement with voter registration drives and drop-off; role played during natural disasters including heat waves and pandemic; XI. COMMISSION COMMENTS  Commissioner Reddy – Recommended an online comic book portal that the library offers.  Commissioner Whitney – Hoping library to provide a Spanish class. XII. STAFF COMMENTS – Will follow up with commission applications for those whose terms will be expiring. XIII. FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS XIV.
