Respected members of the Gilroy City Council.
I am writing to ask you to support the Hilton ceasefire resolution. A ceasefire
is the first step to helping the besieged population of Gaza.
As of yesterday, a 2-month baby died of starvation.
A new study of London School of Hygiene and Johns Hopkins University
focusing on the projected non-lethal impacts on the population concluded:
in addition to 30,000 deaths, there are 70,000 (mostly youth) that have
survived severe injuries (one or two limbs missing) who will be and will be
challenged finding food.
If a ceasefire is implemented, the study expects between 6,000 and
11,000 to die from malnutrition
With ceasefire, 12% of kids under 5 yrs-old will experience acute
malnutrition
Without a ceasefire and with continued bombing and shelling, 50% will be
affected by malnutrition
The study concludes that the solutions are:
Ceasefire that would save 75,000 lives
Safe access to food
Safe access to Water
Safe access to medication
Safe access to shelter
I hope you find the determination and the courage to stand for the right of
innocent civilians and vote for a ceasefire.
