Dear Counsel Members,
In reviewing last years meeting, there was obvious opposition to the proposal of the City flying the gay pride flag.
I would like to remind you that any individual or group flying a flag is doing so with the intent to reflect their
beliefs. The City of Gilroy should represent all of its citizens and should therefore act in a manor that reflects its
citizens beliefs, not one applicant and their 150 signatures. Before Counsel Members vote on this application, I
encourage you to ask yourselves, does this flag reflect the beliefs of all its 60,000+ citizens? The answer is clearly
no, and an approval of this application is a complete disregard for many of this City’s residents. There is one flag
that represents the beliefs of all, and it is already flying. Thank you
