The traffic and speeds in our neighborhood are absolutely crazy. In addition to the other
measures I support the use of school buses rather than parent drop offs, which make our
neighborhood a racetrack twice a day. My husband and I have almost been hit ourselves, in
fact just the evening before this fatal accident, and I have heard similar stories from others.
People constantly blow the stop signs at Charles Lux and Lopez as well as Cimino and Charles
Lux. Speed bumps would be welcomed. I would love if GPID were out here doing more

Too many people in this area are constantly speeding. Several of these residents live in Glen
Loma on Bogiala way. We've experienced several incidents where our dogs and neighbors
children have seen close calls.

respectfully request a review of current traffic safety conditions in this area. This location is
frequently used by pedestrians, including families walking children to school, residents
accessing nearby parks, and community members walking or running daily.
We are petitioning for the consideration and installation of additional traffic -calming and
pedestrian -safety measures, including speed bumps, a four-way stop, clearly marked
crosswalks, and pedestrian crosswalks with flashing warning lights, particularly at
intersections with limited visibility.

Safety first, please. Especially, the streets near the school are very narrow and with cars parked
on either sides of the street there is lot of congestion. Parents also need to be cognizant with
parking and driving primarily during peak hours

Something needs to be put up in crosswalks near the school flashing lights in crosswalks and
there needs to be more of a presence of police for people that are speeding around Las
Animas Elementary School. Lets all come together as a community to make our neighborhood

The tragic news that Gilroy community had to go through. It's absolutely devastating. We need
to make our parks in schools safer for everyone.
I would like anonymous comment. I saw speed bumps went in the corners of Ambrosia. I'd like
them to be considered elsewhere. People fly down and around corners. People are still parking
right before corners (new law should be no parking 25ft before I think). There's a few
offshooting streets like where my house is. Kids play in these offshoots but with cars blocking
visibility I fear the worst of someone flying around a corner and hitting a kid on a bike or
scooter. I have seen this almost happen. Neighbors have put up the slow signs but no one pay-,-,
attention. We need enforcement. Also people park in fire lanes. Mostly can be see at night
after people are home from work.

This is a great petition with reasonable and practical goal. If happens, it builds a safer
intersection for all. Thanks for working together to make a good project happen. If donation is

In addition to that, there is also a need to enforce speed on Santa teresa blvd near Eagle ridge,

I would like to ensure that all safety measures are in place to keep my family as safe as
I'm very sad for all involved families and my daughter and son knows the kid they said he's a

Hire more police officers in Gilroy.. we can hear in our neighborhood cars racing and

This crosswalk has various blind spots where I have almost been hit coming out of the

Speeding in the Glen Loma Ranch subdivision is a huge problem. This subdivision has a large
population of children living and playing in the area, to include at Cydney Casper Park and
children attending Las Animas Elementary. Every weekday morning traffic around the scho ol
is a nightmare. Parents dropping kids off at school are forced to park on the streets which
causes a huge congestion. It's difficult to see people crossing at times due to the amount of
vehicle parked near crosswalks. The ingress/egress infrastructure at the school is horrible and
it's apparent to real planning went into it. As a former Gilroy PD officer I understand the
limitations our police department has with staffing. But there are other measures that can be
taken to make the traffic safer for our neighborhood such as speed bumps to slow traffic
down, more crossing guards, crosswalks that light up, etc. Another traffic problem in the area
are the roundabouts that are used as drifting tracks. I can hear cars drifting around them
throughout the late night as screeching tires keep me up at night. It's unfortunate that this

Any and all safety precautions that can be made in this area is needed to prevent the tragedy
that occurred on January 1 6th.
For the city of Gilroy, school buses are desperately needed. The volume of drop off and pick up
around both schools in the community is concerning. During these hours it is very challenging

There has been many times, I've witnessed reckless drivers speeding through Charles Lux and
almost hitting children as they walk to school. Speed bumps before the 3 way intersection
