Vote NO on extensions on the homeless encampment by Costco.
I’m sympathetic to the homeless too and pass out hygiene kits to them. However, the state and
county have to get them real solutions like housing, drug treatment and mental health treatment,
which they just defunded. This is no way for them to live and this is not something the city should
tolerate any more. There are also liability concerns over a lawsuit when you go against your own
laws and permit a dangers situation.
Gilroy doesn’t have the infrastructure and should not be taking the lead in the County on the
homeless issue.
