Subject: Homeless
Three months ago the majority of the council voted to extend “Camp Hope” to stay on the
land across from Costco. It is Ɵme to have that camp removed. As many of you know that I
put up with the homeless living behind my house for over three months and I can tell you
stories that would make you sick. The filth is disgusƟng, drugs, garbage, rape, fights, fires,
rodents, screaming all hours of the day and night. You can’t tell me that this camp doesn’t
have drugs, alcohol, garbage, rodents and more. It’s Ɵme that Gilroy take a stand and remove
the homeless from our city. Enough is enough using the tax money of the residents of
Gilroy, puƫng out fires, picking up garbage, police arrests, etc. Gilroy has spent thousands of
dollars on the homeless and will conƟnue if this problem doesn’t come to an end. We
shouldn’t conƟnue down this path that will make it worse by con Ɵnuing to condone it .
It’s Ɵme that the City of Gilroy remove the homeless encampment, there 90 days are up.
