On behalf of Performance Foodservice, I am writing to express our strong support for the
renewal of the Tourism Business Improvement District administered by Visit Gilroy.
Visit Gilroy has been a valued and consistent partner in promoting tourism throughout South
Santa Clara County. Their work has had a meaningful impact on the visibility and success of
our region’s hospitality and food service industry. Through targeted marketing, regional
storytelling, and visitor outreach, they have successfully positioned our area as a destination
for both daytrip, and overnight visitors - directly benefiting local businesses and the broader
community.
The hospitality and food service sectors play a critical role in our local economy, contributing to
both economic vitality and the unique character of our region. Visit Gilroy’s continued
investment in promoting these sectors has helped drive visitation, elevate awareness of our
community’s offerings, and support small, family-owned businesses that rely on tourism for
long-term sustainability.
Renewal of the Tourism Business Improvement District will ensure that this important work
continues. A coordinated and well-funded tourism strategy is essential to maintaining
momentum in a highly competitive landscape, particularly for smaller regions working to
attract visitors. Visit Gilroy has consistently demonstrated both the capability and
commitment required to effectively represent and promote our local industries.
We fully support the continuation of the TBID and appreciate the essential role Visit Gilroy
plays in strengthening our regional economy and showcasing the unique assets of Santa Clara
Valley.
