Subject:EXTERNAL - Stop the detention center
1. Dear, Gilroy City Council Members
2. Gilroy and the surrounding cities MUST oppose this possible detention facility (concentration
camp!). We must join together to combat this anti-immigrant agenda that dehumanizes and
destabilizes our communities and tears families apart.

4. In this dire crisis, we greatly appreciate your brave and just local leadership in taking a public stand,
together with all our communities, to oppose any detention facility in our City.

6. I am descended from immigrants who arrived in the 1920's. My grandparents and father came to this
country to find a better life and escape from repression. Both of my parents joined the military in WW2
to fight fascism. My father's contribution of figuring out how to bend radar, helped the USA winthe
war. He could not have done that if he had been treated as we are treating immigrants now.

8. Immigrant communities are crucial to Gilroy and deserve protection. Share your own experience –
as an immigrant or non-immigrant, worker, business owner, professional. What kind of City do
you want to live in?
