I have a few questions I would like to have the City Council address on Monday:
Does the City know whether the Amazon data center will be a standard data center or AI? If the City does not know which
type of center, how can they confirm the amount of resources (water, electricity, etc.) that Amazon is stating? The
amounts used for AI are greater than a standard data center.
What are the City's plans for inspections of the data center? Will there be an independent inspection team to inspect
items such as the sub-base tanks, day tanks, bulk storage tanks, wastewater/graywater tanks, thermal energy tanks,
etc.? How often will inspections occur?
Is Gilroy developing a contingency plan to respond to unexpected events, emergencies, or risks that could disrupt normal
operations in the event of leaks, fires, explosions caused by the data center? Will a plan to protect Gilroy wells # 6 and 8
(which are less than 1 mile from the data center) be developed to insure no data center contamination?
