I respectfully urge the City of Gilroy to adopt and implement a No Staging Policy that prohibits the use of city-owned property, facilities, resources, and infrastructure for immigration enforcement staging operations. At a time when many immigrant families are experiencing fear and uncertainty, local governments have an opportunity to demons trate leadership by taking concrete steps that build trust and protect community well-being. In addition to a No Staging Policy, I encourage the City to: ● Support policies that protect immigrant residents and strengthen community trust. ● Invest in community-based resources, education, and public services. ● Partner with local organizations providing preparedness, legal education, and family support. ● Increase transparency regarding any activities that may impact immigrant communities. ● Center the voices of immigrant families in decisions that affect the future of Gilroy. Gilroy is a vibrant community with deep immigrant roots. Residents have made it clear that they want a city that prioritizes safety, belonging, and opportunity for all families. A No Staging Policy would send a powerful message that Gilroy is committed to protecting community trust and ensuring local resources are used to support residents rather than facilitate enforcement activities. I stand with the residents, students, families, faith leaders, and community organizations working to build a future grounded in inclusion, dignity, and collective care. Thank you for your service and for your commitment to the people of Gilroy. I urge you to take action and adopt a No Staging Policy. Respectfully, Kelly Larsen, Indivisible South County member, Gilroy, CA. CAUTION: This email originated from an External Source.
