Dear Harjot Sangha,
We. Gilroy Little League (GLL), are grateful for our long-lasting partnership with the City of Gilroy. The success of our
program, specifically providing a recreational baseball and softball youth Little League, depends upon access to well -
maintained city ballpark fields. To that end, we approve the following city ballpark renovations:
1. Christmas Hill Park South Side (Minors) Field: demolition of existing backstop to both dugout cages, installation
of 3 new fence posts to extend dugout to a depth of 7’ from the current 5’, install new 7 ’ chain link fence around
cages, installation of new roof with 7’ height
a. Per Estimate 1268, approved cost is $12,500
2. Las Animas Veterans Park Tee Ball Field: demolition of existing backstop to both dugout cages, installation of 3
new fence posts to extend dugout to a depth of 7’ from the current 5’, install new 7’ chain link fence around cages,
installation of new roof with 7’ height
a. Per Estimate 1270, approved cost is $11,741
b. One of the dugout cages cannot be extended to a depth of 7’ given proximity to a walkway
The above noted renovations should be paid for out of Gilroy Little League’s Ballpark Funds (GLLBPF) established on
January 17, 2021, consistent with the fund’s donation agreement . We understand these proposed improvements have been
reviewed and approved by you personally , according to an email from Matt Jones dated 11/03/25.
Also, please note that the proposed renovations to the Ranch field of Christmas Hill Park (noted as ‘Red Barn’ in the quotes
provided) are not approved to be paid from the GLLBPF given that GLL has not been given priority access to this field in
recent years.
Finally, our season is well underway . Due to limited field availability already, we cannot afford extended “downtime” at the
above noted fields. Therefore, w e respectfully request to work together on scheduling the demolition and construction
period to avoid disruption during our season. Games will be scheduled at the two noted fields daily from March through
May.
