KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS:
That Pacific Gas and Electric Company, a corporation duly
organized and existing under and by virtue of the laws of the State
of California and having its office and principal place of business
in the City and County of San Francisco, State of California, as
Principal, and

as Surety, are held and firmly bound unto the City of Gilroy
a municipal corporation duly created and existing under and by vir-
tue of the laws of the aforesaid state, in the penal sum of one
thousand ($1,000.00) dollars, for the payment whereof well and truly
to be made to said city said Principal binds itself, its successors
and assigns, and said Surety binds itself, its successors and assigns,
jointly and severally firmly by these presents.
THE. CONDITION of the above obligation is such that
WHEREAS the City Council of said city under and pursuant
to the laws of the State of California relating to the granting of
franchises by municipalities, did, on the 16th day of June
19 47 , by Ordinance No.

duly and regularly adopted by said
Council, grant to the predecessor in interest of said Pacific Gas and
Electric Company, its successors and assigns, a franchise in said
city to use the streets of said city for the transmission and distri-
bution of
gas
for the purposes, for the period and upon the
terms and conditions, as more fully set forth in said ordinance, which
is now on file in the office of the City Clerk of said city, and to
which reference is hereby made for a more particular statement of
said terms and conditions.
NOW, THEREFORE, if said Pacific Gas and Electric Company,
its successors and assigns, shall well and truly observe, fulfill
and perform each and every term and condition of said franchise, then
the above obligation shall be void, but otherwise shall remain in
full force and effect~ and in case of any breach of condition of this

bond occurring the whole amount of the penal sum herein named
shall be taken and deemed to be liquidated damages and shall be
recoverable from the Principal and Surety upon this bond.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, said Principal and said Surety
