TO THE HONORABLE THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF GILROY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA:
COAST COUNTIES GAS AND ELECTRIC COMPANY, a California corporation,
hereby for itself, its successors and assigns, bids the sum of Fifty and nO/100
Dollars ($50.00) for the right, privilege and franchise of using the public
highways, streets and alleys of the City of Gilroy, for the purpose of construct-
ing, maintaining and using an electric transmission system and other electric
conductors, appliances and apparatus for the purpose of selling and distributing
electrici ty to the City of Gilroy and the inhabitants thereof for light, heat,
power and all lawful purposes, and any of them, for a period of twenty-five (25)
years from the date of the ordinance granting such franchise, said Coast Counties
Gas and Electric Company representing and agreeing that it will comply with all
the terms and provisions of the right, privilege and franchise advertised in the
notice of sale of said franchise hereinbefore duly published, reciting that
written application for a franchise has been made on the 5th day of May, 1947,
by Coast Counties Gas and Electric Company to the Mayor and Common Council of
the City of Gilroy, and that bids therefor would be opened on the 16th day of
June, 1947, and said Coast Counties Gas and Electric Company hereby undertakes
and agrees, if said franchise is granted to it, to p~ the costs of all advertis-
ing and publications thereof.
