Subject:
Renewal of CMAP /Cities Contract
A Five-Year contract between Community Media Access Partnership (CMAP) and the
cities of Gilroy, Hollister and San Juan Bautista was entered into on September 24th,
2001. The current agreement will end on September 24th, 2006. Pursuant to Section 19
of the Agreement "This agreement may be extended, by mutual agreement of the Cities
and CMAP, in writing, for additional periods of five (5) years each in accordance with
section 21 of this Agreement."
Section 21 directs CMAP to seek an extension in writing to the Cities no later than 56
months after the effective date of the current agreement. (This has been done).
Section 21 directs the Cities to respond to CMAP's letter of request for an extension
within ninety (90) days ofthe date of said letter. The Cities do have the option to refuse
to extend the Agreement based on CMAP's non-compliance with the contract.
It is the opinion of the signatories below that CMAP has fulfilled all contract provisions
and is a valuable asset to the communities which it serves, and that a five (5) year
contract extension be grante September 24th, 2011.
