EXHIBIT "A" SCOPE OF SERVICES AMENDMENTS
1.1 Project Management
Dokken Engineering will perform additional project management activities related to separating the
Camino Arroyo project into two construction packages. Included in this effort is the coordination of
Sixth Street Potholing and landscaping sub-consultant design. Also included are any meetings with the
City staff necessary to complete the project.
2.1 Surveying
Dokken Engineering will perform additional field surveying to establish existing conditions for the Phase
II plans. Only one resurvey of the constructed conditions is included in this proposal.
3.3 Utility Potholing
Cruz Brothers Locators will perform 15 utility potholes along Sixth Street and Camino Arroyo north of
Gilman Road to confirm the location of existing facilities that could potentially be in conflict with the
revised storm drain systems. Part of this cost is covered by the original contract item budgeted for 4
potholes. Cruz Brothers will protect the existing roadways during potholing by first saw-cutting a 24
inch square area at the pothole location. After potholing is complete, the roadway will be repaired
using hot patch asphalt concrete and machine rolled.
5.3 Specifications
Dokken Engineering will revise the 90% specifications and contract documents from 1 construction
package to two. Additional specifications addressing cooperation between contracts will be prepared.
5.4 Quantities and Engineer's Estimate
New quantities will be prepared based upon field surveyed earthwork put in place by the Phase I
construction. The bid item list will be modified for two contracts. The estimate will be revised with
appropriate new items and duplicate items on each estimate.
5.6 100% Submittal
Dokken Engineering will prepare the Phase I and Phase II 100% plan submittals independently. Each
plans set will be arranged and presented as a complete construction package. This will require that the
five project layout sheets be revised to represent the work that will be performed with each contract.
Some temporary drainage details will also be included. This task includes presenting the Phase I
project improvements as the existing conditions for the Phase II project, to the greatest extent possible
given the possibility of ongoing construction.

5.7 Landscape Design
Orsee Design Associates will prepare landscape and irrigation design for the project. Design will include
the landscape strips created by the project on Camino Arroyo and Gilman in the southwest corner of
the intersection. Landscape and Irrigation design will be performed to City of Gilroy, 2005 Standards.
6.2 Construction Support
Construction Engineering support will be provided for the two projects. Initial scoping of the
constructed support was done when the project was significantly smaller in scope. This additional
support is anticipated to address multiple contracts, Caltrans oversight and permit closeout, greater
number of as-builts, and Sixth Street final construction.
