Contract Date: 5/17/04
This order shall become effective when it has been signed by the City Administrator, City Engineer,
Project Engineer, and Contractor. All copies forwarded to Contractor for signature shall be returned to
the City of Gilroy properly filled out. Upon acceptance by the City, the Contractor's copy will be
returned to him as his authority to proceed with the work.
Description of Work:
Upgrade Signal Interconnect Cable from PE #19 to PE #89 as indicated in attached Letter No.2 dated
July 16,2004. The unit price for Bid Item No. 148 is revised from $3.00/LF to $3.94/LF.
All requirements of the original Contract Documents shall apply to the above work except as specifically
modified by this Change Order. The contract time shall not extend unless expressly provided for in this
Change Order.

Signal Interconnect Cable
As stated in Section 86-4.1 of the Technical Specifications, the signal interconnect cable
shall be #19 A WG, twisted, shielded cable conforming to REA-PE #19. PE #19 cable is
typically used for aerial applications. PE #89 is recommended for underground
applications, as will be the case on this project. Please provide an itemized lump sum cost
proposal for furnishing PE #89 signal interconnect cable in lieu ofPE #19.
