This order shall become effective when it has been signed by the City Administrator, City Engineer,
Project Engineer, and Contractor. All copies forwarded to Contractor for signature shall be returned to
The City of Gilroy properly filled out. Upon acceptance by the City, the Contractor's copy will be returned
to him as his authority to proceed with the work.
Description of Work
Split additional costs to increase the width of the roadway constructed during Phase I to accommodate the revised
Phase 2 striping plan per attached Letter No. 98 and Change Order Request No. 48.
All requirements of the original Contract Documents shall apply to the above work except as specifically
modified by this Change Order. The contract time shall not extend unless expressly provided for in this
Change Order.

Revised Phase 2 Striping Plan - North End
The Phase 2 Traffic Control and Handling Plan (Sheet 91) will be modified to
provide an 8' shoulder for the property owner at 9555 Santa Teresa Boulevard'. In
order to create room for this shoulder, a wedge-shaped section of existing pavement
is to be excavated between Station 85+50 and 88+00 so that permanent pavement
can be placed. The width of the section to be removed at Station 85+50 is l' and the
width to be removed at Station 88+00 is 11'.
Since approximately half of this width would have to be removed to construct the
Phase 2 striping shown on the plans, we propose splitting any additional costs
associated with pavement removal and replacement in this area.
The revised striping plan for this area will be forwarded next week.

accommodate for the phase 2 traffic shift. As agreed upon in the field the costs fOI' this work are to be split
between the City of Gilroy and GI'anite Construction.
