Dear Ms. Abrams:
In response to your request, RBF Consulting is pleased to present this addendum to provide
additional design services for the improvements of Santa Teresa Boulevard. This scope of
work provides for separating Mantelli Drive from the current plan set into a separate bid
document and for providing for a traffic signal and intersection improvements at the
intersection of Santa Teresa Boulevard and Mantelli Drive. This scope of work further
provides for revising the existing Santa Teresa Boulevard "Ultimate" Improvement Plans to
show Mantelli Drive and the traffic signal at the intersection of Santa Teresa Boulevard as
existing improvements.
Enclosed for your review are the following exhibits: Scope of Services, Exhibit "A" and
Proposed Compensation, Exhibit "B ".

Consultant will prepare geometric approval drawings at the intersection of
Santa Teresa Boulevard and Mantelli Drive. The geometric approval drawings
will illustrate the transitions, striping and join conditions from the existing
condition at Santa Teresa Boulevard to the ultimate curb return location at the
intersection of Mantelli Drive. It is anticipated that no hardscape medians will
be developed on Santa Teresa Boulevard rather left turn pockets on Santa
Teresa Boulevard will be striped. The geometric approval drawings will, in
schematic format, illustrate the location of the traffic signal mast heads.
Consultant will gain Cities approval of the preliminary drawings before
commencing with final plans, specifications and estimates.

plans into new plan set for the construction of the Mantelli Drive project. They

TASK 1.3 REVISE EXISTING SANTA TERESA BOULEVARD STREET IMPROVEMENT PLAN SET
Consultant will revise the previously prepared Santa Teresa Boulevard Street
Improvement Plan Set and other related plans to reflect the construction of
Mantelli Drive. The modifications to the existing plan set includes:
• Modifying the existing base topo to reflect Mantelli Drive and the
intersection of Santa Teresa Boulevard as constructed.
• Modifying the Santa Teresa Boulevard Plan and Profile Sheets to reflect
the construction of the intersection of Santa Teresa and Mantelli Drive.
• Modifying Storm Drain Plans to reflect construction of Mantelli Drive.
• Modifying Typical Sections Sheets deleting Mantelli Drive sections along

with modifying other sheets referencing Mantelli Drive.
TASK 1.4 REVISE EXISTING SANTA TERESA BOULEVARD TRAFFIC IMPROVEMENT PLAN SET
Consultant will revise the previously prepared Santa Teresa Boulevard Traffic
Improvement Plan Set to reflect the construction of Mantelli Drive. The
modifications to the existing plan set includes:
Modifying the now existing Traffic Signal Plan to reflect the full street
improvements of Santa Teresa Boulevard
Modify Striping Plans, Traffic Control Plans and Street Light Plans to
reflect the construction of Mantelli Drive
TASK 1.5 TRAFFIC SIGNAL TIMING PLANS
As part of the RBF Project Team, Hartzog & Crabill Inc.(HCI), shall prepare
a Traffic Signal Timing Plan for the traffic signal at the following location:
- Santa Teresa Boulevard at Mantelli Drive (new traffic signal)
Three copies of the timing sheets for the project intersection will be provided
to the City.

TASK 1.6 INTERSECTION TURNING MOVEMENT TRAFFIC COUNTS
In order to develop the signal timing, intersection turning movement traffic
counts will be taken for the morning, mid -day and afternoon peak hour at the
Mantelli intersection.
It is estimated that the City will provide twenty -four hour traffic counts to assist
in the development of the signal timing plans.

Exclusions — Any work relating to the following items are specifically excluded
from the engineering services but may be added as additional services for an
additional fee:

Consultant will identify other utility owners within the sphere of the project
which may be affected by the proposed improvements. Consultant will provide
coordination interface to establish controls for utilities that would be included
within the right -of -way limits, identify agencies responsible for the design and
construction or relocation of said utilities and contact each agency to determine
what utilities relocation efforts are required by this project. This task excludes
preparation of dry utility relocation plans which will be prepared by others, if
required.
Utility potholing, if required, will be by City forces or the serving utility as
appropriate. Consultant will request information and notify utility at
appropriate milestones as necessary.
TASK 1.8 FINAL QUANTITY AND COST ESTIMATES
Consultant will prepare final quantity take off and cost estimates for each plan
submittal at 90% and 100 %. One composite quantity and cost estimate will be
provided. The final quantity take off will be utilized in the preparation of the
bid schedule.
TASK 1.9 SPECIFICATIONS
Consultant will prepare contract documents in accordance with the
requirements of the City of Gilroy. The City will provide its current
`boilerplate" contract forms, general conditions, and general provisions on a
diskette in Word format.
TASK 1.10 PROJECT MEETINGS
Consultant will attend up to one(1) coordination meetings with the City and
other agencies during the implementation of this phase of work.

The total payment to CONSULTANT for all work, service, material, equipment and
incidentals necessary for performing and completing the Tasks set forth in this agreement, shall
be for the sum of

to the CITY as outlined below, subject to Article 4 of this agreement.

Blueprinting, reproduction, messenger service and other direct expenses will be charged as
additional costs plus a fifteen percent (15 %) handling fee. A Subconsultant Management Fee
of fifteen percent (15 %) will be added to the direct cost of any subconsultant services to
provide for the costs of administration, subconsultant consultation and insurance. These
charges will be invoiced against previous authorizations.
The fees proposed herein shall apply until December 31, 2001. Due to ever - changing costs,
Consultant will increase those portions of the contract fee for which work must still be
completed after December 31, 2001, by ten - percent (10 %).
