CITY OF GILROY
SMART & FINAL
EMERGENCY SERVICES
Private businesses play a significant role in protecting their employees and community
during disasters. Businesses also play a vital role in working with local government to facilitate
and provide emergency response and recovery from all types of disasters.
It is the desire of the City of Gilroy, hereinafter referred to as "City", to access the food
provision services of Smart & Final during emergency situations.
Therefore, the City and Smart & Final agree to the following:
1. In the event of an emergency during Smart & Final store hours, City personnel may obtain the
services of Smart & Final by contacting the manager directly.
2. In the event of an emergency situation after store hours, City personnel may obtain the services of
Smart & Final by contacting:

Additional emergency contact:
3. City personnel will either drive to the Smart & Final location per the instructions received from
Smart & Final to obtain required supplies or arrange with Smart & Final for product to be delivered to a
specific site.
4. Smart & Final will accept the prearranged form of payment for purchases made pursuant to this
Memorandum of Understanding from the City of Gilroy.
5. This Memorandum of Understanding will remain in effect until such time as either party to the
agreement terminates their participation in writing. The party wishing to terminate the agreement shall
provide 60 days written notice to the other party of their intent to terminate.
MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING
Therefore, the City and Smart & Final, represented by the parties that have signed below hereby agree to
this Memorandum of Understanding as stated above.
