Dear Jay:
Please consider this letter as the Library's formal exercise of its option to renew for twenty-
five (25) years the Lease Agreement for occupancy of the Gilroy Library.
The terms of the lease entered into by the City of Gilroy and the County of Santa Clara, dated
January 13, 1969, provides the Library an exclusive option to renew the lease for an
additional twenty-five year period. We are required to give one year's advance written notice
of our intent to renew the lease. Since the original lease term expires on January 31, 2000,
this letter serves as our written notice to exercise our option and renew the lease for twenty-
five years through January 31, 2025.
We look forward to a continuing cooperative relationship with the City of Gilroy for the next
twenty-five years, and beyond!
