RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR THE ACCELLERATED TRANSMITTAL OF SALES AND USE TAX
COLLECTIONS TO THE CITY OF GILROY
WHEREAS, the State Board of Equalization has developed a plan to accel-
erate the transmittal of colle ctions under the Bradley - Burns Uniform Local
Sales and Use Tax Law through procedures evolved to transfer most of the tax
proceeds to local treasuries at least a month earlier than heretofore: and
WHEREAS, it is advantageous to the City of Gilroy that these accelerated
payments be made to the City and,
WHEREAS, an agreement between the City of Gilroy and the State Board of
Equalization providing for the earlier transmittal of these collections is
desired both by the State Board of Equalization and the City<of Gilroy,
NOW THEREFOR, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Gilroy enter into an
agreement with the State Board of Equalization providing for the earlier
transmittal of these collections and that the Mayor be and is hereby authorized
to sign the agreement.
