RESOUJTION NO. 508
RESOImION OF THE CQo1MON COUNCIL OF THE crry OF GILROY ESTABLISHING
~ STANDARDS FOR THE SUBDIVISION OR DEVELOPMENT OF PROPERl'Y.
WHEREAS, it is deemed necessary to establish improvement standards
l'or the subdivision and development of property in order to: prevent
the dissipation or improper use of the City's general operating and
maintenance funds' in providing these improvements or in maintaining
faulty installations; protect tho living standnrds, public safety and
common welfare of the genernl public; the City Council of the City of
Gilroy does resolve as follows:
SECTION 1: AGREEMENTS
In consideration for the acceptance by the City of responsibility
for maintenance and operation of the required improvements, the subdi-
viders and property developers socll enter into an agreement with the
City covering the cost, type, quality and character of installing same
in accordance with the stipulations as set forth herein.
SECTION 2: ACCEPI'ANCE DATE:
All improvements covered by the above agreement will be ncoopted
for ma.intenance and oporation by tho City not lo.tcZ' than th1rt7 (30)
days after certification of com plot ion hna beon rOC(llvod and ncccpt04
by tho City Council. The repnir nnd correotion of a~ defect. or de-
ficiencies due to workmnnship or materinls which aro di.ooverad within
one (l) year tram the date of aocoptance b1 tho 01ty, sMll be tho re-
sponsibility of the property developer. A suitablo bond in tho m1n:tmum
amount of $5,000.00 shall be posted with the City tor the purpole of
guaranteeing that such corrections will be mado.
SECTION 3: IMPROVEHENTS:
Tho property developer shall install all paving, curbing, side-
walks, street lights, shnde trecs, driveway approo.ches, valley gutters, street
Signs, catch bo.sins, manholes, fire hydrants, valve boxes in eccordo.nce wit?
speci1'ications and standards of design on filo in the office of the
City Olerk and the City Engineer.

In addition, lh subdivider or property dovel lr shall:
(ll) stamp "Sn mark for se'Wor and "iV''' mork for water on
top of curb over the location of each se'Wor lateral
and 'Water service connection.
(b) clean and maintain all streets, alleys, roads, courts,
sewers and drums free from construction debris and
dirt prior to acceptnnce by tho City.
SECTION 4: CHANGES
The City reserves the right to revise, amend or chtlnge any of the
policies contained herein as deemod necessary and equitable ?Y the City
Council. All existing City policies in conflict herewith are hereby
rescinded.
SECTION 5:
This resolution shall be and is hereby declared to be in full
force and effect from and after its adoption and approval.
