RESOLUTION NOo 541
AUTHORIZING CONVEYANCE OF THAT CERTAIN PROPERTY TO ROSS
SANCHEZ FOR THE SUM OF ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS AND THE CON-
VEYANCE TO THE CITY OF CERTAIN PROPERTY BELONGING TO SAID
ROSS SANCHEZ
WHEREAS the City of Gilroy is the oner of certain premises
hereinafter described located in the City of Gilroy and
WHEREAS the City of Gilroy acquired the said premises as a
part of a larger tract, all of which the City was compelled to purchase
in order to acquire the portion thereof needed for the construction of
a southerly branch of Welburn Avenue, and the said premises hereinafter
described are not required in any way in connection with the construction
of said street, are not required for municipal purposes and are not
being used for municipal purposes of the City of Gilroy, and
WHEREAS ROSS SANCHEZ has offered the City of Gilroy the sum of
ONE THOUSAND ($1,000) DOLLARS cash and the additional consideration of
conveying to the said City the following described parcel of land which
said ROSS SANCHEZ owns~ to wit:
BEING a portion of Sub Lot 43 as shown on Map Noo 8
accompanying the report of the referees in the Las Animas
Rancho Partition Suit action Noo 5536 had in the Superior
Court of the State of California in and for the County of
Santa Clara and being more particularly described as follows:
"BEGINNING at an iron pipe at the most northerly corner of a
certain parcel of land described in the deed to Ross Sanchez,
et al, dated October l~ 1925 and recorded November 2, 1925, in
Book 195 of Official Records at page 201, Records of Santa
Clara County and running thence along the northwesterly line of
said parcel of land So 680 441 50" Wo 35025 feet; thence No 880
501 30" Eo 37054 feet to a point in the southwesterly line of
Monterey Road; thence along said southwesterly line, No 210 15t
10" WO 12090 feet to the point of beginning, and
CONTAINING THEREIN 00005 acre of land."
AND WHEREAS the Common Council of the City of Gilroy believes
that the said consideration offered by the said ROSS SANCHEZ for the
said premises now belonging to the City of Gilroy is the full value
thereof; and that his offer should be accepted as being in the public
interest;
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved that the City of Gilroy, upon

the paymenttD it of the said sum of ONE THOUSAND ($1,000) DOLLARS and
the conveyance to it by the said ROSS SANCHEZ of the premises herein-
before described belonging to him1 convey to the said ROSS SANCHEZ
the following described premises located in the City of Gilroy,
County of Santa Clara{ hereinbefore mentioned as unnecessary for
municipal purposes: to wit:
BEING a portion of Sub Lot 43r as shown on Map Noo 8
accompanying the report of the Referees in Las Animas Rancho
Partition Suit Action Noo 5536, had in the Superior Court
of the State of California1 in and for the County of Santa
Clara1 and being more particularly described as follows:
"BEGINNING at the most westerly corner of that certain parcel
of land described in the deed to Ross Sanchez{ et aloi
dated October 171 1925 and Recorded November 21 1925 in
Book 195 of Official Records at Page 201: Records of Santa
Clara County; and running thence No 190 55t30" Wo 34039 feet;
thence No 880 50' 30" Eo 100005 feet to a point in the north-
westerly line of said land of Sanchez; thence along the
Northwesterly line So 680 44t 50" WO 94075 feet to the point
of beginning, and
CONTAINING THEREIN 00037 acres of lando"
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor of the City of Gilroy
be and he is hereby authorized to execute a grant deed conveying the
premises lastly above described now belonging to the City of Gilroy
to the said ROSS SANCHEZ upon receipt of the consideration therefor
above set fortho
Passed, approved and adopted this 2nd day of Novemberq 1959
at a regular meeting of the Common Council of the City of Gilroy by
the following vote:
AYES: COUNCILMEN Pate, Rush, Petersen, Wentworth, Gallo, Jordan
NOES: COUNCILMEN None
ABSENT: COUNCILMEN None
