RESOLUTION NO. 80 - 55
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY
UPON THE PASSING OF ELDRED HOLDAWAY.
\VHEREAS, Eldred Holdaway, died on the 29th day of May,
1980; and
WHEREAS, Eldred Holdaway was a resident of the City of
Gilroy since 1963 and owned and operated the Gilroy Ambulance
Company since 1965; and
WHEREAS, the said Eldred Holdaway served his community
honestly, energetically and faithfully with this worthwhile and
much needed service; and
WHEREAS, the members of the City Council deem it fitting
and proper that a permanent record be made of the services ren-
dered the City of Gilroy by one who faithfully performed his
services and was in addition a highly respected citizen always
interested in the progress and welfare of the City.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that in the death of said
Eldred Holdaway the City of Gilroy has lost one who during his
long operated community ambulance service, served the City
loyally, capably and well and his family and immediate relatives
have lost a devoted husband, parent and counselor; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution duly
certified as such by the City Clerk of the City of Gilroy be
delivered to the surviving wife of said Eldred Holdaway and his
surviving family.
