RESOLUTION NO. 1211
RESOLUTION OF APPLICATION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF GILROY TO THE SANTA CLARA COUNTY LOCAL AGENCY
FORMATION COMMISSION RELATING TO THE DETACHMENT OF
TERRITORY FROM THE GILROY RURAL FIRE PROTECTION DIS-
TRICT
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City Of Gilroy;
1. That it does hereby request the Santa Clara County Local
Agency Formation Commission to approve the detachment of the territory
described in "Exhibit A", attached hereto and made a part of this Reso-
lution, from the Gilroy Rural Fire Protection District.
2. That the propose 1 i.s made plJr suan t to the D Is trl et Reor~ganl za t i on
Act of 1965.
3. That the territory proposed to be detached is uninhabited.
4. That it Is desired that the proposed detachment provide for
and be made subJect to the following terms and conditions;
None.
5. That the reasons for this application are:
The terr I tory descr i bed in "Exh i bit A" has been
annexed to the City of Gilroy. City Is prepared
to assume fire protection services in this ter-
ritory.
6. That it is hereby requested that proceedings be taken for the
detachment hereinabove proposed.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk is directed to file a
certified copy of this Resolution with the Executive Officer of the Santa
Clara County Local Agency Formation Commission.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Gilroy on this
2nd day of January, 1968, by the following vote:

WHEREAS, there has heretofore and on the 3rd day of August, 1966, been
annexed to the City of GIlroy, under the designation of "LIMAN-CARLYLE NO. 66-l
ANNEXATION TO THE CITY OF GILROY" the following described property located
in the County of Santa Clara, State of California, to wit:
BEING a portion of the "Map of the North Gilroy Tract" as shown on
the map thereof filed for Record in Book ''W'' of Maps at pages 14 and
15, Records of Santa Clara County, an~ also a portion of lasAnlmas
Ranchlot 32 as shown on Map No. 7 accompanying the Final Report of
the Referees in the Las Animas Rancho Partition Suit, Action No.5536
had in the Superior Court of the State of California, in and for the
County of Santa Clara, and being more particularly described as follows:
"BEGINNING at the northwesterly corner of Lot 3 in Block 5 as
shown on said Map, and running thence along the northerly line
of Lots 1, 2 and 3 in Block 5 and the northerly line of Lots 1,
2 and 3 in Block 3 and the prolongation thereof N. 880 35' E.
1,25l.30 feet to the Intersection thereof with the centerline
of Lilly Avenue; thence along the centerline of Lilly Avenue
N. l30 29' W. 189.90 feet to the intersection thereof wIth the
centerline of Liman Avenue; thence along the centerline of Llman
Avenue S. 880 351 W. 60.25 feet; more or less, to the intersection
thereof with the southerly prolongction of the easterly line of
that certain parcel of land described in the Deed to Glenn C.
Defebaugh, et ux, Recorded in Volume 4407 at page 476, Official
Records of Santa Clara County; thence along the said prolongation
and easterly line N. 20 201 W. 170.02 feet to the northeasterly
corner of said parcel conveyed to Defebaugh; thence along thp.
northerly line of said parcel and the Westerly prolan9atlo~
thereof (being 150.00 feet northerly at right angles frolfl:h:3
northerly 1 ine of Liman Avenue) S. 880 351 W. 559.05 feet~ 5110re
orless, to a point in the centerline of Carlyle Avenue that is N.

Carlyle and Llman Avenues as shown on said "Map of the North Gilroy
Tractll, thence along the centerline of Carlyle Avenue N. 22020' W.
41.54 feet to the northeasterly corner of lot 1 in Block 6 as shown
on said Map; thence along the northerly line of Lots 1, 2 and 3 in
Block 6 S. 880 35' W. 574.75 feet to the northwesterly corner of
Lot 3; thence along the westerly line of Lot 3 in Block 6 and the
westerly line of Lot 7 in Block 5 S. 10 25' E. 394.50 feet to the
point of begInning, and CONTAINING THEREIN 10.257 acres".
