F~SOLUTION NO. 85-8
P~SOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY RE:
OFFICE OF CRIMINAL JUSTICE PLAN~ING - CALIFO~~IA
COMI1UNITY CRHm RESISTANCE PROGRAH.
WHEREAS, the State Office of Criminal Justice Planning has
selected the City of Gilroy Police Department for funding of a
Community Crime Resistance (CCR) Program; and
WHEREAS, the California Community Crime Resistance Program
is authorized by Chapter 1291 of the statutes of 1982; and
WHEREAS, the City of Gilroy Police Department intends to
implement a comprehensive, fifteen month Crime Resistance Program
including Neighborhood and Community Watch, Senior Safety, Peace
Officer Training and Sexual Assault Prevention; and
WHEI1EAS, the City of Gilroy Police Department will upon
near completion of project funding apply to the Gilroy City Council
for continued funding for both project concepts and staff for budget
year 1986-1987; and
WHEREAS, the City of Gilroy agrees to assume funding require-
ments (10%) pursuant to Office of Criminal Justice Planning mandates.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT P~SOLVED that the City Administrator
or his designee is authorized to submit the Gilroy Crime Resistance
(Grant) project to the Director of the Office of Criminal Justice
Planning.

hereby certify that the attached Resolution No. 85-8 is an
original resolution, duly adopted by the Council of the City of
