RESOLUTION NO. 85-13
RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GILROY ESTABLISHING SPECIFIC TERMS OF
OFFICE FOR MEMBERS OF THE BUILDING DEPARTMENT
BOARD OF APPEALS
WHEREAS, Section 204 of the Uniform Building Code
provides that the Council shall appoint a Board of Appeals
to interpret the application of the Uniform Building Code,
and
WlIEREAS, present members of the board serve indefinite
terms at the pleasure of the Council, and
WllliREAS, the Board of Appeals has unanimously
recoTITIIlended that specific terms of office be established for
its members, and good cause appearing therefor,
BE IT RESOLVED that the Uniform Building Code Board
of Appeals shall consist of five members appointed by the
Mayor, with the consent of Council, to serve staggered four
year terms commencing January 1 of each year; that the present
members shall draw lots for two 4-year terms, one 3-year term,
one 2-year term and one I-year term; that no member shall
serve more than two full terms; and that one member of the
Council shall be appointed an ex-officio member to serve at
the pleasure of the Council.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 19th day of February 1985,

hereby certify that the attached Resolution No. 85-13 is an
original resolution, duly adopted by the Council of the City of
Gilroy at a regular meeting of said Council held on the 19th
day of February , 19 ~, at which meeting a quorum was
present.
