RESOLUTION NO. 85-89
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GILROY FINDING OVERRIDING CONSIDERATIONS TO
JUSTIFY INCLUSION OF A PARCEL IN THE 20-YEAR
PLANNING AREA AND A PROPOSED GENERAL PLAN AMEND-
MENT THEREON BY HEALTH DIMENSIONS, INC.
WHEREAS, after duly noticed puolic hearings as
required by law, the Planning Commission of the City of
Gilroy has recommended by its Resolution No. 85-29 that
the City Council find overriding considerations for
inclusion in the 20-year planning area and a proposed general
plan amendment changing land use on approximately 38.57 acres
of land east of Highway 101, south of Cohansey Avenue and
north of Las Animas Avenue, and
WHEREAS, the City Council, after examin~ng the project
finds that even with additional mitigation measures required
by Council, not all adverse impacts can be satisfactorily
mitigated, and
WHEREAS, the Council also finds that a higher level and
quality of health services are needed in Gilroy,
BE IT RESOLVED: The City Council of the City of
Gilroy finds that any significant environmental effects
which are not mitigatible are outweighed by the beneficial
effects of the project on the provision of health services
to the citizens of Gilroy.
