RESOLUTION NO, 98-26
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GILROY ESTABLISHING NEW NUMERICAL LIMITS FOR
MAXIMUM TOTAL NUMBER OF RESIDENTIAL DWELLING
UNITS TO BE BUILT DURING EACH OF THE YEARS 1999
THROUGH 2003, INCLUSIVE, AND DETERMINING NOT TO
OPEN AN RDO APPLICATION PROCESS FOR THE YEAR
1998
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 50,63 of the City of Gilroy Residential
Development Ordinance ("RDO"), the City Council shall determine "Annual Numerical Limits"
setting the maximum total number of dwelling units to be built each year during a subsequent ten-
year goal period; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 50,63(b) of the RDO, once each year of the ten-
year goal period, the City Council shall hold a public hearing and shall adopt a resolution
reaffirming, readjusting, and resetting the Numerical Limits for each of the subsequent calendar
years remaining in the ten-year goal period; and
WHEREAS, the City Council held a duly noticed public hearing at its regularly
scheduled meeting on April 27, 1998, at which time it considered the five- and ten-year housing
goals, the number of units having received building permits under assigned build-out schedules, the
number of units for which build-out schedules have been assigned and the number of units
previously determined to be exempt from the RDO under Section 50,63(b), and upon such
consideration, set the Numerical Limits for the subsequent calendar years remaining in the ten-year
goal period,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT:

1, The City Council of the City of Gilroy hereby approves and sets Numerical Limits
for each of the calendar years 1999 through 2003, inclusive, as set forth in the attached Exhibit "A,"
which is incorporated herein by this reference,
2, The recommendation of the Planning Commission that the City Council not open a
1998 RDO competition for the reason that the next available allocation year is currently 2001,
should be and hereby is affirmed,
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 18th day of May, 1998 by the following vote:
AYES: COUNCILMEMBERS: ARELLANO, GIFFORD, MORALES, ROWLISON,
SPRINGER, SUDOL, GILROY
NOES: COUNCILMEMBERS: NONE
ABSENT: COUNCILMEMBERS: NONE
