This regular adjourned meeting of the Common Council is called to
order by His Honor Mayor George C.Milias.
Present:Councilmen George M.Llason,J.Ii. �ientivorth,James B.Thomas,
Carl r'. Pate. Absent: Councilmen David V.Stout,Dale D.Daniels.
The Mayor states that the purpose of this meeting is to discuss
the matter of turning over to the County that portion of Miller
Avenue within the city limits for the purpose of setting to grade
and resurfacing the avenue. The Mayor speaks briefly on the hi:sto'ry
of flood conditions effecting this area in time of high water and
heavy seasonal rains stating that this matter had been discussed
prior to the time the area including Miller Avenue was annexed to
the city.

the city limits on Miller Avenue, is discussed and in view of the
fact that the county is prepared to set the grade of the avenue and
resurface it,2it is unanimously agreed that the Street Committee
meet with the County Surveyor and Road Commissioner Robert Chandler
at 2 P.M.,Wednesday,August 1,1951 to discuss the matter of drainage
further.
Motion by Councilman Thomas,seconded by Councilman Pate and carried
that Councilman David V.Stout be granted permission to leave the
state for a period of thirty days.

call of the chair.
