August 27,1951.
This regular adjourned meeting of the Cormon Council is called
to order by His Honor Mayor George C.Milias.
Present:Councilme n George M.Mason,J.H.Wentworth,James B.Thomas,
David V.Stout,Carl W.Pate. Absent:Councilman Dale D.Daniels.
The Mayor states that the purpose of this meeting is to discuss
the budget for the fiscal year 1951 -1952.
The Clerk presents the budget figures and requests for grants

from the Gilroy Golf Club,The Gilroy Chamber of Commerce and the
Eagles Band.
It lis unanimously agreed that the amount requested for capital
outlay by the Gilroy Recreation Commission be disregarded and that
the tax rate be set to cover their request the carry over to be
considred in the total amount gra nted; that the Gilroy Golf Club be
granted $11000,00;that the Chamber of Con erce be granted $2000.00

with the understanding that $500.00 of the $2000.00 be given by the
Chamber of Commerce to the Eagles Band; that the sun of $500.00 be
earmarked in the Reserve Fund to be added to in future budgets the
funds accumulated to be used for painting the stands and fences,etc.
at Wheeler Field.
Itilot ion by Councilman Stout ,seconded by Councilman Pate and carried
that the adjustments in the budget agreed upon be adopted and with
these adjustments the budget be approved and the tax rate for the
fiscal year 1951 -1952 be $1.4000 per $100.00 of assessed valuation
divided as follows:
