HomeMy WebLinkAboutBKF Engineers - 2018 Agreement for Engineering Services - Amendment No. 2�apF G/G/I AMENDMENT TO THE AGREEMENT FOR SERVICES BETWEEN CITY OF GILROY AND BKF ENGINEERS FOR THE DESIGN OF THE MONTEREY ROAD REHABILITATION PROJECT NO. 18-PW-400 PURCHASE ORDER NO. 180952 DATED 04/22/2019 AMENDMENT NO.2 This Amendment shall become effective when it has been signed by the City Administrator, Project Manager, and Consultant. All copies forwarded to Consultant for signature shall be returned to the City of Gilroy properly filled out. Upon acceptance by the City, the Consultant's copy will be returned to _proceed with the work. This amendment is for scope of work includes additional services to support the city in Community Outreach effort and construction support including additional RFI's responses, preparing as -Built drawings, Submittal reviews and potential plan changes that were not included in the original scope for the project in an amount not to exceed $35.000. This Amendment extends the term of the Agreement for Services between the City of Gilroy and BKF ENGINEERS dated December 311t, 2019 to March 31, 2020. All requirements of the original Agreement Documents shall apply to the above work except as specifically modified by this Amendment. The contract time shall not extend unless expressly provided for in this Amendment. Project Manager Date ck_7f in Awoke, De artment Head Date i f�G�1d Ain -7',� l Ga riel A. , o zal z, ity Administrator D e�r►n �hl �l r Scope of Work, Amendment No.2 This scope of work is for additional design services as requested during the City's conference call on 6/6/2019 and as summarized below: Additional Proiect Manaaement (Phase 1) Due to the project schedule extending longer than originally proposed, BKF is requesting additional budget for project management to cover attending project meetings, preparing project schedules, and preparing project invoices. Based on the project schedules provided on 4/12/18 and 1/16/19, the design schedule has been extended by approximately 4 months. Additional Construction Support (Phase 4) Due to the addition of the RRFB system and additional project complexity due to utilities, staging and traffic signals, BKF is requesting additional funds to provide construction support such as submittal review, RFI's responses, and potential plan changes. BKF will also provide a full-size copy of construction as-builts for record keeping purposes. Translation Services (New Phase 61 BKF will work with Lazar Translating & Interpreting to provide written and telephone interpretation services for the project. Lazar Translating will provide Spanish translating services to be included in the weekly construction updates with a 24 hour turnaround time. BKF will provide a toll -free hotline where residents and business owners can call and ask questions about the project. If needed, Lazar Translating will provide translation of these messages into English. The cost included herein is only an estimated fee based on the sample information provided by the City. The actual cost of the translation services is a function of how many words are translated and how many calls are received. Actual costs from Lazar Translating & Interpreting services will be a pass -through cost to the City subject to BKF's 10% subconsultant markup. BKF's fee associated with the additional scope of work identified herein is as summarized as follows: Phase 1: Additional Project Management $7,500 Phase 4: Additional Construction Support $24,500 New Phase 6: Translation Services (Estimated) $3,000 Total: $35,000 A fee and task breakdown, as well as BKF's 2019 hourly rates, are included as attachments. ve-, truly yours, Bt. Such charges may include, but shall not be limited to printing and reproduction services; shipping, delivery, and courier charges; subconsultant fees and expenses; special fees, permits, and insurance; transportation on public carriers, meals, and lodging; and consumable materials. Mileage will be charged at the prevailing IRS rate per mile. Monthly invoices are clue within 30 days from invoice date. Interest will be charged at 0.833% per month on past due accounts. Expert witness/litigation rates are available upon request.
