CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order at 6:32 pm. FLAG SALUTE III. SECRETARY'S REPORT The agenda was posted on Friday, March 4, 2022 at 1:00 pm. IV. APPROVAL OF MINUTES A. Arts and Culture Commission - Special Meeting - Dec 7, 2021 6:00 PM Commissioner Camille McCormack made a motion to approve the minutes from December 7, 2021. Commissioner Lisa Carter seconded the motion. Motion carried 4-0. V. APPROVAL OF AGENDA Commissioner Carter made a motion to approve the agenda. Commissioner Frank Patterson seconded the motion. Motion carried 4-0. VI. INTRODUCTIONS The Commission welcomed Alexandra Perdew and Frank Patterson as new Arts & Culture Commissioners VII. STUDENT REPRESENTATIVE COMMENTS None VIII. PUBLIC COMMENT ON ITEMS NOT ON THE AGENDA 2 None IX. NEW BUSINESS A. Gilroy Museum's Annual Presentation and Commission Approval to Transfer Interest Income From the Gilroy Museum Endowment Trust to the Museum Donations Fund Susan Voss from the Gilroy Museum made their Annual Presentation to the Arts & Culture Commission and highlighted the Museum’s work over the past 12 months and the work planned ahead. The museum is now open the first and second Saturdays of each month from 10am to 2pm. Their walking tours have doubled and they now have a tour on youtube.com as well. Museum volunteers are taking on the Objects Collection Audit. Finally, the Gilroy Historical Society, on behalf of the Museum requested from the Arts & Culture Commission to forward a recommendation to City Council to approve the disbursement of interest accumulated in the Museum Endowment Trust to the Museum Donations Fund. Chair Melanie Reynisson made a motion to recommend to City Council to transfer the interest accumulated ($221.51) in the Museum Endowment Trust to the Museum Donations Fund. Motion was seconded by Commissioner Carter. Motion carried 4-0. B. Selection of Chair and Vice-Chair of Arts and Culture Commission The Arts & Culture Commission discussed nominations for Chair and Vice Chair for Calendar Year 2022. Motion was made by Commissioner McCormack to nominate Melanie Reynisson as Chair. Motion was seconded by Commissioner Carter. Motion carried 4-0. Commission agreed to postpone Vice Chair selection until next meeting when more members were present. X. COMMISSION COMMENTS (Arts-Related) None XI. STAFF COMMENTS None XII.
