NOTICE OF A MEETING
OF THE GILROY
PLANNING COMMISSION
TO CONSIDER
THE GILROY 2040
GENERAL PLAN POLICY
DOCUMENT
THIS PLANNING
COMMISSION MEETING
WILL BE HELD on
Thursday, February 6,
2020 at 6:30 p.m., or as
soon thereafter as the item
can be heard, in the Gilroy
City Council Chambers at
City Hall, 7351 Rosanna
Street, Gilroy, California.
The City of Gilroy is in
the process of creating
the Gilroy 2040 General
Plan. The General Plan
expresses the community's
long-term vision for the
growth and development
of the city of Gilroy. The
plan establishes public
policy for the distribution
of future land uses, both
public and private, and
addresses a wide range of
policies, including economic
development. transportation,
infrastructure, housing.
parks, recreation and open
space, historic preservation
and the natural environment.
The General Plan Advisory
Committee (GPAC) considers
the Draft General Plan Policy
Document and makes a
recommendation to the
Planning Commission and
City Council. At this meeting
the Draft General Plan Policy
document will be presented
to the Planning Commission
for their review and
recommendation to the City
Council. The City Council will
then be asked to approve,
or approve as amended, the
Draft General Plan Policy
Document for inclusion in the
General Plan Environmental
Impact Report (EIR). This
action does not represent
final approval of the General
Plan, but is an interim step
in the General Plan Update
process. Subsequent to
this action, the General Plan
Environmental Impact Report
for the new General Plan will
be drafted. This proposal is
exempt from environmental
review under Section
15262 of the California
Environmental Quality Act.
A detailed description of the
proposal is on file with the
Community Development
Department at City Hall.
The staff report for the
proposal may also be viewed
on the City website (www.
cityofgilroy.org) by 5:00
p.m. the Friday before the
meeting.
Interested parties are
encouraged to attend
this meeting as this is
the time and place when
comments on the proposals
shall be heard and given
due consideration Persons
who are unable toattend
this public hearing may
submit written comments
by delivering them to the
Planning Division at City
Hall, 7351 Rosanna St.
Gilroy, CA. 95020 priorto.
or at the public hearing to
be incorporated into the
record. If you challenge the
decisions at this hearing,
you may be limited to
raising only those issues
you or someone else raised
at the hearing, described
in this notice, or in written
correspondence delivered
to the City at or pdor to the
meeting.
