NOTICE OF A PUBLIC HEARING
OF THE GILROY CITY COUNCIL
FOR THE ABATEMENT OF WEEDS AND REFUSE IN THE CITY
THIS CITY COUNCIL PUBLIC HEARING WILL BE HELD on Monday, May 4,
2020 at 6:00 p.m., or as soon thereafter as the item can be heard, in the Gilroy
City Council Chambers at Gty Hall, 7351 Rosanna Street, Gilroy, California.
NOTICE 75 HEREBY GIVEN that pursuant to the provisoes of section 12.48 of the
Gilroy City Code, the City Council has passed a resolution declaring that all weeds
and/or refuse, as the same are defined in section 12.45 of the Cade, growing or
accumulating upon any private property or in any public street or alley, constitute or
constitutes a public nuisance, and that such nuisance must be abated by the
destruction or removal in the manner provided by Article 3 of Chapter 12 of the
Gilroy City Code.
NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that property owners shall, without delay, remove
or cause to be removed all such weeds and refuse from their property, and horn the
abutting half of the street in front and alleys, if any, behind such property, and
between the lot lines thereof as extended, or such weeds will be destroyed and
removed and such refuse will be removed and such nuisance or nuisances created
thereby abated by the City authorities, in which mse the costs of such destruction
and/or removal will be assessed upon the lots and lands from which, or from the
front or rear of which such weeds and accumulation of refuse, have been destroyed
or removed; and such costs will constitute a lien upon such ots or lands until paid
and will be collected upon the next tax roll upon which general municipal taxes are
collected.
All property owners having any such objections to the proposed
destruction or removal of such weeds and/or refuse are hereby notified to
provide public comment at this meeting of the City Council as this is the
time and place where their objections will be be given due consideration. Submit
written comments by delivering ahem by mail to the Gilroy City Clerk, City Hall, 7351
Rosanna St. Gilroy, CA. 95020 prior to the hearing date, or by emailing them to the
City Clerk at =M1=W�= omk��n,,.r,.n,..,, ,...,..., to be incorporated into the record. If
you challenge the decisions at this hearing, you may be limited to raising only those
issues you or someone else mised at the hearing, descnited in this notice, or in
written correspondence delivered to the City at, or prior to, the meeting.

Department at City Hall. The staff report for the proposal may also be viewed on the
City website (wu,w .In,nnar,n. �r�,,,) by 5:00 p,m, the Wednesday before the City
Council meeting.
