A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GILROY AMENDING THE BUDGET FOR THE CITY OF
GILROY FOR FISCAL YEAR 202 4 AND FISCAL YE AR
2025 AND APPROPRIATING PROPOSED EXPENDITURE
AMENDMENTS
WHEREAS, the City of Gilroy (City) entered into a Funding Agreement with the
Valley Transportation Authority (VTA) in April of 2022 for the US 101/SR 152/10 th Street
Interchange Improvement Project (Project) by which the City contributed $120,000
towards the Project Initiation Document (PIO) phase; and,
WHEREAS, the City Administrator presented to City Council the Budget for Fiscal
Years 2024 and 2025 and the Budget was adopted during the City Council meeting held
on June 5, 2023; and,
WHEREAS, the US 101/SR 152110th Street Interchange Improvement Project
(Public Works Project No. 800770) funding plan allotted City contribution of up-to
$630,216 using Traffic Impact Fund (425) towards the Project Approval & Environmental
Document (PA&ED) phase in Fiscal Year 2025; and,
WHEREAS, the Project PIO phase was completed and VTA wishes to commence
the PA&ED phase in coordination with the City and other Project stakeholders; and,
WHEREAS, as part of the staff report dated March 18, 2024, staff proposed for the
City Council consideration and approval of the First Amendment to the Project Funding
Agreement with VTA and amendments to the City Budget to reallocate funds in the
amount of $600,000 from Fiscal Year 2025 to Fiscal Year 2024 to fund the City's lumpsum
financial share of $600,000 towards the Project PA&ED phase.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT the appropriations for Fiscal Year
2024 for Traffic Impact Fund (425) shall be increased by $600,000 and decreased for
Fiscal Year 2025 in an equal amount.

meeting duly held on the 18th day of March 2024 by the following roll call vote:
