BACKGROUND On September 20th, 2024, the City of Gilroy and the City of Gilroy Arts and Culture Commission held an unveiling event, entitled “For the Love of Gilroy”. Fourteen banners were unveiled along Monterey Road in downtown Gilroy with many community members and family members of the artists in attendance. Now that the event has concluded, we are seeking Commission discussion on specific areas of improvement for future events, as well as elements that were successful and positively contributed to the attendees’ experience. Gathering information and feedback on what went well and what could be improved upon will help inform the development of this program should the Commission desire, and Council approve, continuing the public art campaign for a second year or more.
