CALL TO ORDER AND ROLL CALL The meeting was called to order at 8:00 AM by Chair Marques. Committee Members Absent: Fran Beaudet, Jeff Orth, David Caldwell 2. WELCOME/MEETING NORMS a. Purpose of the committee – Chair Marques/Vice-Chair Tovar discussed the role of the Committee b. Attendance, meeting dates, and times – 6 meetings this year (2nd Tuesday of month 8:00 AM). Should members miss more than two meetings, they are to be replaced by their original appointer c. Working committee, sub-committees – 5 committees, each led by a Gilroy Councilmember 3. MEMBER INTRODUCTIONS a. 1 minute or less – Who you are and why do you want to be on the Committee 4. PUBLIC COMMENT a. Terrence Fugazzi – involve as many people as possible. Meetings should be recorded and broadcasted b. David (?) – Downtown resident (Church/4th) concerned about residences c. Rebecca (?) – street/areas of downtown 5. BRAINSTORM DOWNTOWN CONCERNS a. Plywood Removal – Councilmember Marques b. Beautification of Downtown (lights, popup park, flowers) – Councilmember Tovar c. Vacancy Ordinance – Mayor Blankley d. Noise Ordinance – TBD e. Additional Topic TDB – TBD Potential Projects Include: 1. Trash Enclosure 2. PGE 3. Code Enforcement – Vendors, Signage, Garbage, Graffiti 4. Gourmet Alley/Grants 5. List of Property Owners (4th-7th) 6. Parklets 7. Parking Enforcement/Management 8. Additional Events 9. Business Attraction 10. Events, Permits, Licenses 11. Small Business Handbook 12. Small Business Hotline 13. Zoning Transparency Page 2 of 2 14. New Business Support 15. Crime/Safety Downtown 6. PRIORITIZATION OF PROJECTS – to be addressed in the June meeting 7. PROJECT SELECTION AND FORMATION OF SUBCOMITTEE – to be addressed in the June meeting 8. ADJOURNMENT The meeting was adjourned by Chair Marques at 8:59 AM.
