1. Christopher High School Update Objective: Christopher High School is under construction. The
purpose of this item is to provide an update and to discuss City and School District joint use issues.

2. Traffic & Safety Issues * Chestnut Street Pedestrian Bridge * 10th Street Bridge * Swanston Lane
Objective: The City and the District collaborate on traffic and safety issues. The purpose of this item is
to provide an update and continue discussion about specific issues. Public Comment * Crossing Guard
Partnerships Objective: The School Board will provide examples of crossing guard partnerships in
other jurisdictions. Public Comment
2. Traffic & Safety Issues (Continued) * Gilroy High School Objective: The School Board will provide a
report on the February 27, 2009 incident at Gilroy High School Public Comment
3. Update: Development in Gilroy and RDO Process Objective: The purpose of this item is to update
School Board Members about development and the RDO process. Public Comment
4. GUSD Facilities Update Objective: GUSD staff will provide an update about district facilities and
steps to accommodate growth. Public Comment
5. Budget Calendars Objective: The City and GUSD will share their calendars of planned budget
sessions. Public Comment
6. Character Counts Objective: Glen View and Las Animas Elementary Schools are piloting Character
Counts!, a character education program. Character Counts! will be implemented districtwide by the
fall 2009.The City Council is asked to offer their support of this program. Public Comment
7. City News Objective: City Council Members will share news about the City in order to inform the
GUSD Board. Public Comment
8. GUSD News Objective: GUSD Board Members will share news about the School District in order to
inform City Council Members. Public Comment
9. Future Agenda Items Objective: Participants will discuss and identify possible agenda items for the
next joint meeting.
10. Adjournment NO ACTION MAY BE TAKEN on a Study Session matter other than direction to staff
to further review or prepare a report.
