From:REBECCA SCHEEL To:Public Comments Subject:EXTERNAL - Adopt District Mayo JH05 Date:Monday, April 7, 2025 11:03:01 AM Dear Mayor & City Council members, I would like you to adopt Map number JH05. I am a home owner & have lived in Gilroy for 31 years, my neighborhood is in the Kern/Welburn area, near Rod Kelley School on the blue portion on JHO5 map. My second choice is JHO7, which is very similar. My immediate neighborhood is connected in many ways, in this area residents have been here for 20-40 years, many are original home owners such as myself. We were involved in a Neighborhood Watch Program, we keep our area informed & we take care of each other. We would not want to be separated, we are a ‘Community’ within Gilroy. In my extended neighborhood of the Blue area on Map JH05, we use the same neighborhood parks, we frequent shopping on First Street & we send our children to the same elementary school, Rod Kelley. We have neighborhood yard sales & 4th of July picnics. We share many of the same interests including our poorly maintained streets. Lastly, regardless of the above request, please do not include our area in the Northwest area/quadrant, the yellow area on this map west of Santa Teresa. We are mostly working class or retired residents with older homes & our income level is less than residents in the NW area. We are very different. We need to be represented by someone who has the same interests & understands our unique needs for fair representation. Thank you, Rebecca Scheel
